Quoddy Shoes

The Shorey family of Perry, Maine, has been handsewing Quoddy shoes since 1909. The heritage of craftsmanship in Quoddy shoes decsends from the Passamaquoddy tribe of eastern Maine, who are famous for their moccasins, birch bark canoes, and woven baskets. Pictured above are the “Ring Boot with Chromepak Sole”, a statement moccasin if there every was one, from the supple Chromepak leathers to the rugged handsewn upper to the cinch strap closure that passes through welded alloy rings. You can also order it in lighter weight leathers for an “instant break-in” if you don’t have the time or inclination to wear them in just right. These are lined with glove leather for extra comfort.

Grizzly Boot with Sheepskin Lining Classic moccasin construction in a full-height boot. Interior is lined with natural full-grain sheepskin lining – perfect for colder climates. The leather footbed has a full length layer of memory foam for supreme comfort and also serves as an effective insulation layer. Six lacquered eyelets with a 63” rawhide lace. Instead of a tongue, a deerskin bellows keeps out debris and maintains warmth without adding bulk. Available with either a handsewn waterproof natural crepe rubber outsole or a thick Chromepak leather bottom. Either is appropriate for outdoor use, but the former more suitable for the wet. Both are replaceable for extended wear and value.
Canoe Mocs
As sleek as the local Wabanaki watercraft. Collar lace threaded through lacquered eyelets allows you to snug it up, but doesn’t compromise the easy-on/easy-off nature of this most capable of slip-ons. Glove leather lining for barefoot comfort.
