Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti’s Italian Villa circa 1964
Get your liquid eyeliner and BumpIts out because this photo gallery is going to make you want to channel your inner Sophia Loren. The Italian actress and her film producer husband Carlo Ponti began renovating this villa in 1960 and were photographed in it for Life magazine four years later. Loren called the villa her first “real home” and said, ”A house is like a person, you must be together for awhile to be comfortable.” The interior of the villa is very classically Italian, as you will notice, and Loren wears some classic 60s outfits while showing off her pad. The Greek Tycoon
The Greek Tycoon was released in 1978 and stars Jacqueline Bisset as Liz Cassidy, the wife and then widow of the American president, and Anthony Quinn as Theo Tomasis, a Greek shipping tycoon. The plot line of the movie appears to read as a not even trying to veil the fact the characters are based on Jackie Kennedy and Ari Onassis, and although RDuJour hasn’t seen the film, the movie poster does make it look like it might be worth watching if not entirely cheesy!
