Front Row at Moscow Fashion Week
For Moscow there are fashion weeks. One sponsored by IMG, another Russian backed venue, and now a fashion weekend called Cycles and Seasons has been founded by Anna Dyulgerova, a former fashion editor with Russian Vogue. Five of Russia’s best designers, Konstantin Gayday, Terexov, Teplov, Gosha Rubchinsky, and Vardoui Nazarian, showed collections to an audience that included Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Sophia Hesketh, Byrdie Bell, Olivier Zahm, the graffiti artist Andre, and more.
Fetish for the Garage Moscow
Russian socialite and newly appointed editor of Pop magazine Dasha Zhukova turned attention back to one of her previous ventures, The Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, in Moscow this week to celebrate a Christian Louboutin-David Lynch exhibit called Fetish. Dasha was joined by the designer and photographer as well as pals Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Alexia Niedzielski, Byrdie Bell, Sophia Hesketh, Miroslava Mikheeva Duma, and more for a fete on Wednesday night. If you’re a fan of Dasha Zhukova then you might enjoy 15-year-old fashion designer and Paris Hilton wannabe Kira. Another star of the young Russian “bratski”, Kira is a phenomenon in Moscow where she has her own chain of high street stores which specializes in cheap-chic apparel similar to that of H&M and Topshop. The daughter of businessmen Sergei Plastinin (co-founder of Wimm-Bill-Dann, Russia’s largest dairy producer), Kira was given a £50million leg up from pops to start her line and he has been supportive ever since, reportedly paying Paris Hilton £1million in 2007 to make an appearance at a Kira show. Luckily for Sergei Kira is dedicated and hopes to study at Parsons while over seeing the New York store (which was supposed to open in March 2008). (click through for more)
