After visiting Francois Pinault’s art exhibit at the Punta della Dogana yesterday in Venice many of the guests went on to a yacht party hosted by Missoni for Bruce Nauman. And its no wonder she is so popular with her mastery of rocker chic. I love Erin for all her grunge glory but not being too liberal to throw on massive fur coats with her leather leggings and ripped t-shirts. The Costume Institute Gala 2009
The Costume Institute Gala is a little bit like prom. AHH the DRESSES. And I’m always slightly disappointed / thinking with all the resources these people have this is the best they could come up with? Still there are always an exceptional few, like this year’s most stunning couple Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake (with Jack White and Karen Elson, who was wearing Chanel, in second place). Even though Gisele and Tom Brady are so Barbie and Ken they can never look bad they just didn’t own the red carpeted steps this year the way they did last. Jessica Biel (in Versace Atelier) is so classically beautiful and got every element of her outfit down perfectly and who knew Justin (especially back in the NSYNC phase) would look so good in Clark Kent glasses?

The Alexa Chung Show
British television presenter, model, and fashion it-girl Alexa Chung has nabbed her own MTV show in the US. ‘The Alexa Chung Show’ will air midday and consist of celebrity and pop culture talk as well as online interaction with viewers through Facebook and Twitter (aka the new TRL). The hour long show debuts on June 15th and is one of nine new programs MTV has planned to pick up its ratings.

Matthew Williamson for H&M New York Launch
British fashion designer Matthew Williamson launched his summer collection for Swedish chain store H&M on Tuesday night on The Majesty, which was docked near the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. Williamson’s first collection for H&M was released April 23 in 50 stores world wide and sold out within hours of release. The summer collection will be distrubted to 1600 stores world wide and will remain in stock for a longer period of time than any other H&M collaboration collection. It also includes the first range of menswear Williamson has ever designed. Helping Williamson celebrate the occasion on Tuesday were a host of celebrities including models Daria Werbowy (pictured above with the designer), Selita Ebanks, Helena Christensen, Bar Refaeli, Chanel Iman, Dree Hemingway, actresses Mary-Kate Olsen, Amanda Stetton, Alexis Bledel, The City castmembers Olivia Palermo, Erin Lucas (wearing an awesome feathered skirt from Topshop), Samantha Swerta, and ‘real’ socialites Julia Restoin-Roitfeld (who was sporting a ring from pals Gaia Repossi and Eugenie Niarchos‘ Czarina jewelry line), Zani Gugelmann and Luigi Tadini.
