This Chelsea gastro pub, The Phene, is tucked just off the King’s Road on a quiet street that allows for a private garden like setting. Reopened after closing in 2004 by London based fashion designer Lily Bourne, whose family also owns famed London eateries like the Cheyne Walk Brasserie and Ronnie Scott’s, The Phene bills itself as a ‘perfect sanctuary in which to relax and eat good food’ all made possible by its stylish interiors and offerings as a pub, lounge and deli. Caroline Sieber is an Austrian born London based stylist whose clients include Harry Potter star Emma Watson.  A frequent face on best dressed lists, Sieber is also currently one of Chanel’s brand ambassadors which stems from a long time relationship with the French fashion house. In 2005 she was spotted by Anna Wintour at the wedding of Arthur Mornington and Jemma Kidd and was put on the committee for the Costume Institute Gala for the Coco Chanel retrospective. Sieber and Selma Blair were the only two girls fabulous enough for Karl Lagerfeld to lend vintage Chanel gowns to. Continue reading for additional photos of some of Caroline’s amazing outfits.

Sienna Miller was looking uber chic at the Chelsea Flower Show in London today. I can’t say that I dislike anything about this outfit, loving in particular the boots, bag, jacket, and messy hair. Also attending the VIP launch of the show held at The Royal Hospital were Bill Nighy, Helena Bonham Carter, Jo Wood, and more. Continue reading for more photos.

La Fromagerie

17 May 2009

lafromagerieexterdkc

The origins of La Fromagerie lie in a 1990 trip that owner Patricia Michelson took to Meribel, France, and tasted the cheese Beaufort Chalet d’Alpage for the first time. After returning to England and selling the cheese from her home Michelson eventually opened a stall in Camden Market before La Fromagerie on Moxon Street just off Marylebone High Street.  La Fromagerie is a ‘tasting cafe’ and in addition to the wide selection of cheeses serves salads, soups, and yummy croque monsieurs. I’ve been told that aside from having a charming atmosphere, which is why I go, that La Fromagerie is a place for ‘real foodies’.

Back to Biba

I love these old photos of models from the 1960s-70s London store Biba. The brand, which was relaunched in 2006 by Bella Freud, was originally founded through a mail order catalogue by Barbara Hulanicki. In 1974 the store transitioned into a department store on Kensington High Street and became famous for its art deco inspired interiors.
