Hervé Pierre’s New York Apartment

09 May 2010

o9234oadsfhervekw3adsf1

Hervé Pierre, the creative director of Carolina Herrera, is a thoroughly modern man with an utterly romantic eighteenth-century sensibility. He left the Loire Valley of his youth to become the head of haute couture at Pierre Balmain in Paris (at the age of 24). But he’s lived here for the past fifteen years—where he’s found some ingenious ways to combat homesickness, stocking his refrigerator with Côte d’Or chocolate and his foyer with a noblewoman’s 1780 sedan chair. His is perhaps the only condo on lower Fifth Avenue to have been transformed into a veritable cabinet of curiosities. “I am in New York during business hours,” Pierre explains, “but at home I need to be in Paris.”… (NY Magazine).

18 January 2010

AlexRichardsNYCapartGrazia1

An old interview and feature from Grazia of model Alexandra Richards‘ (daughter of The Rolling Stones Keith Richard and model Patti Hansen) NoLita apartment. RDuJour loves the chandeliers that Alexandra has hanging above her kitchen table.. a good DYI project!? You would need a lot of superglue! Also liking the Moroccan pouf seats shown in the picture above just in front of the couch. My favorite version of these come from John Derian in New York, which might be where Alexandra got hers because they look quite similar! Continue reading for more  photos / interview.

Sienna Miller has been trying to sell her two-bedroom north London home since January and recently sliced the price from £1,295,000 to £995,000. Nightingale House is located in Mayfair and I’ve been in love with this place for a while (the staircase topped with dome window looks particularly cool).
