Christian Dior Fall 2011 Haute Couture

The Christian Dior Fall/Winter 2011 haute couture collection was presented yesterday afternoon with a show held at the Musee Rodin. The collection was kicked off Paris Haute Couture week and was heavy on high-impact bright colors and floral prints, including looks that appeared in the shapes of flower petals. Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011

The Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011 collection was presented earlier this week at the Maritime Hotel in New York. The collection was described as being a “little bit Lolita” by the brand’s design director Julie de Libran and features feminine retro-style looks including floral and tribal printed dresses mixed with big floppy hats, leather gloves, large chain necklaces and sunglasses with stay-chains like the ones worn by your Grandma. Libran also said “For Fall, Marc went back to curves, the woman. This is continuing in that spirit, but going to extremes with jewelry and accessories.” Continue reading for additional photos.
Stella McCartney Spring 2011 Presentation

British fashion designer Stella McCartney presented her spring 2011 collection at at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in New York City on Monday night. Dior Cruise 2011 Runway

The 2011 Dior cruise collection may have been delivered in Shanghai in a massive tent along the city’s famous Bund but the clothes were purely Parisian chic. John Galliano is a master at delivering the sort of retro glamour RDuJour adores, taking inspiration for such designs from the Nouvelle Vague cinematic movement and the style of it’s starlets like Francoise Hardy, Jean Seaberg, Romy Schneider, and Jeanne Moreau. Dior Cruise 2011 Event Shanghai

Following in the footsteps of Chanel with Karl Lagerfeld’s Shanghai inspired Paris-Shanghai collection shown back in Decemeber, LVMH label Dior is branching out east as well. Dior designer John Galliano, LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, his wife Helene Arnault, and Dior faces Charlize Theron and Marion Cotillard were all on hand this weekend to celebrate the opening of the new Dior shop in Shanghai. Chanel Cruise 2010/11 Runway

On the heels of the opening of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival Karl Lagerfeld took over the town of Saint-Tropez to put on the Chanel Cruisewear show. Outside Sénèquier, the famous tea room and pâtisserie, the street became a catwalk down which Lagerfeld sent his 1970s inspired looks, starting off with Georgia Jagger styled as a young Brigitte Bardot vrooming in on a motorcycle.
