Italian designers Stefano Gabbana and  Domenico Dolce are introducing a color line of cosmetics into their luxury fashion empire. Hues for the range were inspired by Mediterranean blues, black and gold for the volcanic Sicilian island Stromboli where the designers spend their summer vacations, and  a shade of burgundy that references the dahlia, one of Gabbana’s favorite flowers, according to Stephanie Epiro of WWD who held an interview with the designers. Products will include scented lipsticks, a feature the duo remembers from their mothers make-up as children, as well as nail polish, eye shadow, mascara, perfect finish powder, bronzers, lip gloss and eye and lip pencils. Beginning at the end of this month the line will be available at the Italian department store La Rinascente and then at Selfridges and Saks Fifth Avenue in March. photo from WWD.
