10 January 2010

RDuJour is absolutely mad about horses, so when I first saw dace’s lookbook for their Fall 2009 collection my heart fluttered. I love these photographs and way they styled the collection around this equestrian theme but the clothes don’t look too just off the trails. dace is a Canadian label launched in 2002 by designer Dace Moore, originally from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia and now based in Vancouver. Tokyo based designer Keit Maruyama began his namesake collection in 1994. His autumn/winter 2009 collection has a rustic vintage glamour feel that RDuJour loves (particularly the leopard coat and green tights look in the gallery below!). Beaumont Organic

11 October 2009

Beaumont Organic’s autumn-winter 2009 collection was inspired by fairytales and vintage detailing. Made with 100% organically grown cotton (the brand won the ‘Best Textile Product’ category at The 2008 Natural and Organic Awards), Beaumont Organic has also used natural dyes from a small family run factory in Portugal to introduce more color into the line this season. Designer Hannah Beaumont said: “I like the fact that there’s more colour this season, with the added dark blue and grey. I also really like the added detailing seen on the crochet tops and shirts, which has so far proved very popular. I would wear the slouchy blue cardigan with skinny jeans and heels. I also love the slouchy draped grey top.”

Alexandre Vauthier A/H 09

08 September 2009

Picture 15vaerwalexandreaumtomwinterhiever

French designer Alexandre Vauthier’s autome-hiver 2009 couture collection is fabulous! I think Vauthier really hits the Joan Collins in Dynasty vibe that so many people have been trying to recreate recently with the big shoulders and big fur coats. But because his clothes aren’t as gaudy I find them more appealing than other 70s/80s revival pieces. Continue reading for additional photos.
