Gossip Girl author Cecily von Ziegesar has moved on from fictionalising her high school days at the elite Manhattan girls school Nightingale-Bamford and is now taking a stab at bringing her university alma mater to life. Von Ziegesar attended Colby College in Maine, which sounds a lot like the setting for her new novel Cum Laude Dexter College in Home, Maine.

On the television series Gossip Girl Kelly Rutherford plays Upper East Side power mom Lily Bass and is often seen pacing in front of her massive and super cool Prada Marfa painting while having a row with hubby Rufus or frowning over daughter Serena’s latest indiscretions, always kitted out in way too many designer samples.
