Hedi Slimane Named YSL Creative Director
Hedi Slimane has been confirmed as the replacement for Stefano Pilati as Creative Director at Yves Saint Laurent. A statement released by the house explained that Slimane would receive total creative control while also continuing to pursue his interests in photography. ”Hedi Slimane’s exceptional talent and understanding of the spirit of Yves Saint Laurent heralds a promising new chapter in the story of the maison,” CEO Paul Deneve said. Likewise PPR, who owns the YSL label, Chairman and CEO Chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault stated, “As one of the most important French fashion houses, Yves Saint Laurent today possesses formidable potential, which I am confident will be successfully harnessed and revealed through the vision of Hedi Slimane.” Woop!
