Cinema Style: Rene Russo in Thomas Crown Affair
An age old RDuJour style icon is Rene Russo’s character Catherine Banning in the 1999 remake of the classic heist film The Thomas Crown Affair. As the high-powered insurance investigator Russo sports a number of chic outfits from the classic little black dress with lots of pearls to the fabulously fur-detailed ensemble pictured above while spying via sailboat. Costume designer Kate Harrington selected pieces from the 1997 Celine collection by Michael Kors in addition to several looks from Halston. Continue reading to view additional images.

I’m so glad you posted this. This is one of my favorite movies, I like this version better than the original and think Ms. Russo is tres tres chic in this movie, to this day those clothes look fresh modern, inspirational and highly doable.

She’s so great!!! Love her look and attitude in this movie. Would be great to see her in another Ocean’s 11 type film if they make one. Still coveting her haircut and color which still looks fantastic over a decade later.
