Fashion Blogger Profile: Bohemian Musings

RDuJour sits down for ten questions with Isabelle Küster, the super stylish face and witty character behind the fashion blog Bohemian Musings. Continue reading for interview.
1. Who are you favorite high end designers?
I think it’s hard to be consistent about designers in a branch that is so fast-paced but I always enjoy what the people over at DvF are doing. Charlotte Ronson is great too and it’s just impossible to resist Alexander Wang these days.
2. What are you favorite high street / chain stores?
I really like H&M, especially in hamburg as there are so many different stores with varying themes. I’m trying to get away from stopping by too often though. just recently I absolutely fell for Urban Outfitters and American Apparel as well.
3. What item in your wardrobe do you treasure most?
I have a serious love affair going on with my rabbit fur vest as it adds a touch of rock’n'roll even to the most simple getup. I always need to explain the whole ‘rabbit fur is a byproduct of food production, it’s not comparable to mink.. etc.’-story which is a tad tiring.
4. Is there any particular piece you are currently lusting for?
Me and my empty wallet are debating about a crazy patterned seventies cardigan from promod. Promod- yes, I am that poor.
5. Which spring/summer 2010 collection have you liked best (so far)?
I would love not to fulfill the cliché but I have to say Alexander Wang (not even for the clothes but the whole concept and the models’ hair) and Erin Wasson’s line. Hello, living cliché.
6. Do you have a style motto / piece of advice?
Don’t take things too seriously and don’t let fashion control your life. It’s just playing around. I think the way you dress reflects your personality but I wouldn’t want my personality to be all about dressing. It’s just one fun facet.
7. Who are your style icons?
I love a bit of eccentricity and free spirit which I think Kate Moss captures perfectly. She’s just one great example though, this kind of inspiration lies in other people too. I was just recently stunned by a 19-year-old drummer who seemed to be such a glowing character with a daring style which I think is rare, especially when it comes to males, even more especially at that age. For me it’s about a certain sparkle I need to get from people which he perfectly held.
8. What are you favorite films (photos, etc.) for fashion inspiration?
Breakfast at Tiffany’s, not particularly for the clothing itself but for Holly Golightly’s carefree spirit. Alfie for Sienna Miller’s amazing character Nikki who appears to be the coolest dresser ever and the most disturbed person at the same time. The Hedi Slimane-Kate Moss series is utterly inspiring which is why I have the tambourine picture at my wall to look at whenever I need to be remembered that life is about rock’n'roll just as much as it is about other things. Sophie Dahl’s novel Playing with Grown Ups was a fantastic read as well as it painted a vivid picture of fascinating characters which would have to be what inspires me most.
9. Why did you start blogging?
I am a very expressive person and a literature student so I feel the need to write anyways. Blogging is just one aspect of it.
10. What are your favorite blogs (besides Bohemian Musings and RDuJour of course!)?
4th and Bleeker, What is Reality Anyway? and the gems over at Cigarettes and High Heels.
