Parsons Fashion Benefit
The 2009 Parsons Fashion Benefit Honoring Calvin Klein, Tom Murry and Francisco Costa, was held last night at Cipriani Wall Street. Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa hit the red carpet with the brands perfume and lingerie ad star actress Eva Mendes. Other guests included it-girl Dree Hemingway, New School alum Olivia Palermo, models Helena Christensen and Molly Sims, designers Marc Jacobs, Philip Lim, and Peter Som, celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, and American Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who was pulling one of her outfit repeatsies. Matthew Williamson for H&M New York Launch
British fashion designer Matthew Williamson launched his summer collection for Swedish chain store H&M on Tuesday night on The Majesty, which was docked near the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. Williamson’s first collection for H&M was released April 23 in 50 stores world wide and sold out within hours of release. The summer collection will be distrubted to 1600 stores world wide and will remain in stock for a longer period of time than any other H&M collaboration collection. It also includes the first range of menswear Williamson has ever designed. Helping Williamson celebrate the occasion on Tuesday were a host of celebrities including models Daria Werbowy (pictured above with the designer), Selita Ebanks, Helena Christensen, Bar Refaeli, Chanel Iman, Dree Hemingway, actresses Mary-Kate Olsen, Amanda Stetton, Alexis Bledel, The City castmembers Olivia Palermo, Erin Lucas (wearing an awesome feathered skirt from Topshop), Samantha Swerta, and ‘real’ socialites Julia Restoin-Roitfeld (who was sporting a ring from pals Gaia Repossi and Eugenie Niarchos‘ Czarina jewelry line), Zani Gugelmann and Luigi Tadini. Blair Waldorf is spending her Friday night standing sketchily underneath a tree in front of bestie Serena Van der Woodsen’s apartment building. A black limousine carrying Chuck Bass happens to be driving by and slides to the curb. Bass steps out. “Blair,” he says in that wishing he was Humphrey Bogart voice, “I see you’re wearing your beret.” Funniest moment of television I have watched in a very long time.
