Screen Style: The World of Henry Orient
The World of Henry Orient (1964) is the movie that inspired my love of fur coats. The plot consists of 14-year-olds Val and Gil stalking their crush, the concert pianist Henry Orient, all over New York City and getting in the way of his affair with a married woman. More photos/video below.

Germain’s Fashion Facts
In his book On Fashion the fabulous Christian Lacroix offers many interesting tidbits about sources of his own inspiration. One of my favorite sections of the book is called “Worn” where Lacriox offers, “I am embarrassed by things that are too new. Old things, worn things, aged things have a living quality about them that is better than aerodynamic cut or artificial stretch.” I appreciate this very much as I prefer a disheveled chic to a shiny chic. In conclusion of the section Lacroix adds, “In Dickens’s Great Expectations, there is a mad old lady, Miss Havisham, who wears the same silk wedding dress that she wore as a young woman, forever waiting for the bridegroom who never came. Every haute couture collection includes a long gown bearing the imprint of the past, a deliberate reference to Dickens.”
And that my friends is the fashion fact of the day!
Zara Phillips Christmas Hat

For her great equine enthusiasm Zara Phillips has always been one of my favorite royals. Today she was spotted with the rest of her family attending a Christmas service wearing this insane hat. I have to say, I like it!!!
