80s Icon: Tina Chow

Tina Chow, born Bettina Lutz in 1951, became one of the most popular models of the 1970s. She married Michael Chow, owner of the Mr. Chow restaurant chain, and had two children China and Maxmillian. Tina and her husband were famous amongst New York’s art world and close friends of Andy Warhol, Manolo Blahnik, and Paloma Picasso. By the time of her death from AIDs in 1992, Tina had amassed one of the most famous couture collections in the world, which included pieces by the likes of Dior, Balenciaga, Vionnett, and Fortuny. The Rage of Paris

Parisian indie bands are the new thing. They dress like Pete Doherty, sing like the Clash, and look like Jane Birkin. The Plastiscines are a female quartet of coolness and their songs are catchy enough that it doesn’t matter if we can’t understand what they’re saying. Second Sex, The Plastiscines male counter part, have the best hair since Paul Simonon. Get the compilation of both bands on the album Paris Calling. We love these les bebes rockers.
