In May of 2010 the Château de Haroué hosted a fabulous exhibition of evening dresses. Three of France’s most prestigious designers exhibited their finest creations for the occasion in the salons of the first floor of the castle: Cristobal Balenciaga, Philippe Venet, and Hubert de Givenchy. The idea of such exposure was born from a long-standing friendship between Hubert de Givenchy, Philippe Venet and the Princess Minnie de Beauvau Craon, owner of this Lorraine showcase. What a shame to have missed this unique exhibition as the video below shows it must have been a lovely event.

The original print of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark by Andy Warhol was produced by the artist in 1985 as part of a series titled Reigning Queens, which also included portraits of monarchs from Swaziland and the Netherlands. This set was sold at Christie’s in New York in 2012 however the vibrant colour scheme would be perfect for a Spring/Summer 2013 moodboard.
